Disney Cruise Weddings - Couples Guide to the wedding

Couples and Groom's Guide
Travel Documents
All U.S. and Canadian citizens must travel with proof of
citizenship, such as a valid passport, or certified birth
certificate with picture identification, or a certified
naturalization certificate with picture identification. Children
17 and under who are U.S. and Canadian citizens are only
required to have proof of citizenship (no picture
identification).
All guests who are non-U.S. citizens residing in the United
States will be required to travel with their Alien Registration
Card (Green Card) and valid passports. All other guests must
have valid passports and necessary visas at time of embarkation.
Please consult with your travel agent, government agencies,
embassies or consulates to determine specific documentary
requirements.
Your Guests
You are welcome to invite up to eight (8) guests to be part of
your magical celebration. Please advise us of guest names and
reservation numbers so that they can be cross-referenced as part
of your wedding party. This will also assist us in making
seating arrangements during dinner aboard the ship. Every
attempt will be made to seat you and your guests near each other
if not at the same table.
Payments for Enhancements
Enhancements selected in addition to the standard Cruise Wedding
packages (that are provided by services aboard the ship) will be
billed directly to your stateroom account on the day of the
service.
Some enhancements (i.e. - floral enhancements) may require
advance credit card payment if the service / product originates
from a Walt Disney World® Resort entity or outside vendor.
Florida Marriage License
A Florida Marriage License is included in your Cruise Wedding
package. Since our captains cannot perform legal ceremonies, the
legalities of the wedding license will actually be taken care of
before your Disney ship leaves Port Canaveral.
An "Information Sheet Prior to Application" needs to be filled
out and mailed/faxed to our office no later than 60 days in
advance of your sailing date.
After you return the information sheet, an official "Application
for Florida Marriage License" will be typed at the courthouse
and sent to you. This official, typed document needs to be taken
to a Notary in your area.
GROOMS GUIDE
Prince Charming
Planning a wedding can be very exciting - and also a little
overwhelming. During this busy time be sure to support your
bride and guide her towards the wedding of her dreams. Remind
her that this is an opportunity to work together and create a
once-in-a-lifetime event that you will both cherish forever.
Sometimes - all you need to do is be there for your bride. After
all, you are her Prince Charming.
The Rings
The rings that you select will symbolize the eternal love that
you have for each other. Their circular shape will serve as a
reminder to each of you that - together, you are complete. Be
sure to take time to select rings that are a reflection of your
sense of style and strength of commitment.
Gift Exchange
Consider setting aside time before or after the wedding to
exchange personal gifts to one another. This may be a great
opportunity for you two to take a moment to say how much you
appreciate each other.
Attire
Your attire, and that of your groomsmen, should compliment that
of the Bride and bridesmaids as well as the overall setting and
surroundings of the wedding.
When considering formal or casual attire, always use good
judgment. Imagine fondly looking back on your wedding pictures
in the distant future. How would you like to remember yourself
on your wedding day? Dashing in a classic tuxedo? Sharp in a
tailored suit? Casual in a colorful shirt? The most important
thing is that you compliment your beautiful bride while feeling
confident, comfortable, and in command.
Once you have picked out a style, be sure that the proper
measurements are taken and alterations are made accordingly.
Also, always be sure that you and your groomsmen try on
everything several days prior to the event. This way, any
additional alterations can be made or missing elements can be
identified and replaced.
Don't Forget: It is also a good idea for you and your groomsmen
to schedule a hair cut a few days before the wedding so that you
are fully "groomed" for your big day!
Traditionally, the groom gives his groomsmen gifts as a sign of
his appreciation for their friendship through the years and
support at the wedding. Be sure to put some thought into these
gifts as they are a reflection of your long-lasting friendships.
Your groomsmen will be sure to appreciate your thoughtful
gesture.
Popular Traditional Gifts
- Cuff Links
- Key Chains
- Daytimes
- Sports Bags/Backpacks filled with cool stuff
- Cigars
The Toasts
Choose a family member to assist in coordinating the toasts. Be
sure to that those expected to give toasts are comfortable and
encourage them to be sure to give some thought to what they
might say. If they feel they take a moment to relax before their
moment to speak. Maybe also suggest that inside jokes are not
appropriate during this time since many guests may not know or
understand these references. The best speeches are short and
from the heart.
The Honeymoon
Planning your honeymoon itinerary is very much like planning
your wedding. You will need to share your dreams and work
together towards making that a reality. Talk about places you
have always dreamed of visiting. Talk about your ideal
experience. Is it adventurous and exciting, relaxing or both?
Here are a few key things to remember
- Set a realistic budget for the honeymoon
- Keep it simple, your honeymoon should be relaxing and
rejuvenating
- Do your research, understand your options, and have a
good idea of the specific activities and excursions you
would like to pursue
- Try to commit to your locations and solidify your dates
6-8 months prior to the wedding
