 TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1 & 2: Depart from Home
Welcome to Collette’s World Youth Day tour. Today you board your Qantas flight and begin the adventure of a lifetime to New Zealand and Australia. Crossing the International Dateline, you lose a full day.

Day 3: Auckland, NZ - Rotorua - Tour Begins
Arrive in Auckland, the 'City of Sails', and wind through the rolling hills of New Zealand’s North Island en route to its cultural capital, the city of Rotorua. This afternoon visit Te Puia, New Zealand's premier Maori cultural and geothermal experience. You will be surrounded by natural bubbling, steaming silica terraces as you explore the landscape. Here, the Maori keep their customs alive by teaching the tribal youth the skills of traditional carving, weaving and dancing. Learn more about this unique culture as you take part in an interactive demonstration on the art of weaving and the importance of the Maori dress. This evening you will receive a traditional Maori welcome at a Hangi meal followed by a traditional performance of songs, dances and other festivities. (D)

Day 4: Rotorua
This morning visit the Agrodome and gain insight into how wool, one of New Zealand’s premier products, is processed through the shearing of millions of sheep each year. You will also see a sheep shearing demonstration. This afternoon, visit Rainbow Fairy Springs, New Zealand's premier wildlife attraction. Here you will view the Kiwi and learn what New Zealanders are doing to rescue the Kiwi from the endangered species list. The evening is yours to explore independently. (B)

Day 5: Rotorua - Auckland
Return to Auckland and enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to acquaint yourself with this great city. (B)

Day 6: Auckland - Sydney, Australia
Fly this morning to Sydney. Upon arrival, enjoy a panoramic city tour featuring Kings Cross, the Harbour Bridge, Chinatown, the Rocks, Circular Quay, the Botanic Gardens, and the fashionable suburb of Paddington. Tonight, view the city from one of Sydney's spectacular revolving restaurants as you enjoy a delicious dinner. (B, D)

Days 7 - 12: Sydney
Enjoy the sessions and numerous activities associated with the celebration of World Youth Day! Throughout these days transportation and activities will be organized through the World Youth Day office and your pilgrimage registration.

Day 13: Sydney - Cairns (Northern Beaches)
Fly today to the tropical north, arriving in the Northern Beaches region of Cairns. Enjoy a traditional Aussie meal this evening. (B, D)

Day 14: Great Barrier Reef
Board a high speed catamaran for an exciting excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. From your base on Green Island, you are able to explore the reef. Enjoy a glass bottom boat ride*, a stroll on the walking trail to take in the rain forest, relax on the beaches, or just watch the fish and sea turtles swim past from the pier. For a more adventurous encounter with the reef, optional scuba diving, snorkeling and an outer reef tour* are also available. (B, L)

Day 15: Cairns - Tour Ends
Your tour ends today in Cairns. (B)

Registration for World Youth Day is not included in the cost of the tour and must be purchased separately through the WYD Organization.

Due to changes in air schedules while on tour, the order of days in the itinerary may change.

The internal flights on this program are not included in the land price of your vacation. These flights need to be arranged and purchased separately if you arrange your own air. Internal flights are included with the air portion of your vacation if you purchase air through Collette Vacations.

Taxes/fees to be paid in local currencies upon exiting New Zealand are approximately $25 NZD (appox. $15 USD).

Due to early arrival times in some cities, rooms may not always be ready for immediate check-in.

*Upgrading your visit with the Outer Reef option is at an additional cost.

Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed with the exception of visits to wildlife parks.

If you have not purchased air through Collette and wish to purchase transfers, you must transfer at our pre-scheduled times.
